The Fort Bragg Soldier for Life Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP) along with Columbia Southern Education Group (CSEG) and the American Freedom Foundation (AFF) will host a Transition Workshop, Tuesday, March 28 from 8 am – 1 pm and Hiring Event at the Fort Bragg Conference and Catering Center on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 9 am-4 pm.
SFL-TAP provides transition assistance to Service Members and their families within 24 months of their separation/retirement. The candidates for hire will be Transitioning Service Members, Veterans, and Spouses who will be available to start working no later than June 2017.
CSEG military initiatives program provides on base corporate training, and integrates the Hire-Train-Employ model with Hiring Events through a network of corporate partners to ensure Service Members and their families have an opportunity to select the career of their choice.
American Freedom Foundation honors, serves and supports Service Members, Veterans, and Spouses as they transition to the civilian workforce through partnerships with military focused organizations.
Transition Workshop and Hiring Event Purpose
Hire: Warriors To The Workforce Transition Workshop “Preparing For Tomorrow”
The workshops will discuss recruitment and hiring practices in the 21st century for transitioning Service Members, Veterans, and Spouses.
Train: Career Resource Center Ribbon Cutting
The Career Resource Center at Fort Bragg will afford Service Members, Veterans, and Spouses the opportunity to obtain the additional training required to transition into the civilian workforce. The ribbon cutting ceremony will highlight the opening of the base training facility and launch career skills training programs.
Employ: Warriors To The Workforce Hiring Event
The Hiring Event is a targeted event for employers to interview pre-screened and selected candidates from a database for open positions within their organizations on the day of the event. This process has proven to be very successful.
Outcome:
These events provide transitioning service members, wounded warriors, and military spouses new career opportunities in the private sector. Additionally, companies attending the workshops will gain insight into successful employment and networking strategies.
